Manuel Esquivel, Sr. Infrastructure and Energy Planner Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA)

Manuel is Sr. Infrastructure & Energy Planner at the Boston Planning & Development Agency, where he manages the Boston Smart Utilities Program and the Boston Community Energy Program. Manuel holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from MIT and a MS in Environmental Science and Policy from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago. While in grad school, Manuel worked at Rocky Mountain Institute on transportation modeling and Argonne National Lab on biomass techno-economic analysis. Prior to transitioning to the policy world, Manuel worked for five years as Research Scientist at two start-ups in the Greater Boston area. Manuel loves everything Latin America and you can often find him enjoying a cup of coffee and an empanada with habanero sauce.
